About Us

Are you struggling emotionally?

You are not alone.

At Garland Counseling Center, we help teens, adults, couples, and families dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar, OCD, ADHD, grief & loss, relationship problems, school/work/career problems, family problems, and/or coping with life changes.

We offer individual counseling for adults and teens 13+, couples counseling, and family counseling.

We aim to provide compassionate and competent counseling for our patients by individualizing treatment that fits the need and person.
We use a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Exposure and Response – Prevention Therapy, Mindfulness, Grief Work, and Christian Counseling.

Delene Penix, LPC 

Are you stressed, overwhelmed, or depressed? You may be burned out from dealing with the same problem for years; you may be overwhelmed with problems from all sides; or you may not know how to deal with them.

Many people struggle when facing multiple problems or life-changing issues.                      

Delene Penix, LPC, is an experienced, caring, and straight-forward counselor who is here to support you through difficult times and help you navigate relationship, job and life issues.

Delene Penix is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Mindfulness, Exposure and Response-Prevention Therapy, Grief Work, and Christian Counseling. She teaches patients coping skills and how to change negative thinking to reduce and manage anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, and adjustment issues.

She also has experience helping family members learn to understand and accept autism in their family. 

She is LGBTQ+ allied.

 Abigail Alford, LPC

Have you ever thought life is just too difficult to handle? Whether it’s long-lasting issues from the past or you’re facing new challenges, you don’t have to face them alone. You may benefit from a caring professional to listen to you without judgment, someone who can help you along your journey of healing.

Abigail (Abie) Alford is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with teens, adults, couples, and families. She helps clients deal with a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, relational problems, life transitions, and past trauma. 

Abie helps clients use personal strengths to overcome issues and challenging situations. She uses Cognitive-Behavior Therapy to help clients change negative thoughts and behaviors that affect emotions and EMDR to address trauma. She helps clients develop strategies for dealing with problems using positive coping strategies.

Abie has dedicated her life to helping others in need.  She is here to listen, and to help you use your strengths to face challenges in life.

Self-Pay Rate per session is $100 (Abie) or $125 (Delene).

We offer in-person and telehealth sessions.
